Posted 5/16/24: Recently, there has been inaccurate information being disseminated in the Commonwealth regarding the adoption of the 2021 Accessibility Provisions, including adoption of the 2017 edition of the ICC A117.1 standard, based on the UCC Review and Advisory Council's review of the 2021 codes and its anticipated report to the Department of Labor and Industry as to the adoption of the 2021 codes and standards for the Commonwealth, which are intended to take effect later in 2025.

The Department of Labor and Industry has confirmed that this is in error. See below:

The UCC RAC does not have jurisdiction to review accessibility provisions of the code. We have no mechanism in place to move to the 2021 provisions or to use the 2017 A117.1 standard.
